Role Focus: Social Content Creation, Design Support & Organic Execution
Reports to: Senior Account Director
Location: Hybrid – Pretoria
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: R12 000 – R16 000 net salary per month (depending on experience)

Role Summary

  • The Social Media Content Creator & Coordinator is responsible for the creation, coordination and execution of organic social media content across multiple client accounts.
  • This role focuses heavily on social media design execution, content formatting, platform-ready creative production and assisting with content delivery workflows.
  • The role supports the Social Media Coordinator and Senior Graphic Designer by handling less complex design work, adapting templates, assisting with scheduling and supporting community engagement.
  • This role requires a strong creative eye, attention to detail, platform awareness and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced agency environment.
  • The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, creatively driven and comfortable balancing design work with operational coordination tasks.

Role Breakdown by Percentage

1. Social Content Design & Creation – 40%

  • Create social media graphics, carousels, stories and static posts
  • Adapt approved templates across multiple brands
  • Prepare platform-ready content for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok
  • Assist with basic motion graphics and reel editing
  • Resize and repurpose creative assets for different placements
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines and quality standards

2. Content Planning & Scheduling Support – 15%

  • Assist with monthly content calendars
  • Upload and schedule content across social media platforms
  • Coordinate publishing timelines with the Social Media Coordinator
  • Ensure content is prepared and scheduled according to deadlines
  • Support content rollout across multiple client accounts

3. Caption & Content Assistance – 10%

  • Assist with drafting captions and supporting copy
  • Adapt content messaging per platform
  • Support hashtag and engagement research
  • Assist with content ideation and post concepts
  • Ensure captions align with approved brand tone and messaging

4. Creative Support & Asset Management – 15%

  • Organize and maintain content folders and asset libraries
  • Source stock imagery, video and platform assets where required
  • Prepare and export files for scheduling and publishing
  • Maintain template consistency across client accounts
  • Support the Senior Graphic Designer with overflow creative requirements

5. Community Management Support – 10%

  • Monitor comments, messages and social engagement
  • Respond to community interactions professionally
  • Escalate sensitive or lead-based queries to the relevant team member
  • Assist with maintaining response times and engagement standards
  • Identify engagement opportunities and trends

6. Workflow & Department Coordination – 10%

  • Track assigned creative tasks and deadlines
  • Maintain communication with coordinators, designers and account managers
  • Support internal workflow processes
  • Assist with content quality checks before publishing
  • Ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on time

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • 1–3 years experience in social media content creation or digital marketing
  • Strong Canva skills (required)
  • Basic Adobe Creative Suite skills (Photoshop, Illustrator or Premiere Pro advantageous)
  • Basic video editing and reel creation skills
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends
  • Good understanding of content formatting and platform specifications
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Agency experience advantageous
